Gameplay
Zooba is a battle royale game, but it’s different from any I’ve come across before. This is mainly due to the fact its gameplay is in a birds-eye view but also the fact that the main characters you can be are animals. You get to choose between 3 characters before you enter the gameplay:
- Bruce (Strong)
- Nix (Balanced)
- Molly (Agile)
Each character has different abilities, so I’d recommend choosing wisely. I went with Molly as she has a little baby character with her that helps you along when attacking enemies.
The aim of the game is to pick up weapons and kill every other animal in the zoo until you’re the last man standing. Be quick when picking up weapons because you’ll start to get attacked pretty quickly when the game starts.
The weapons you get are a crossbow, gun, bomb, and a special attack. I found myself going for the gun and crossbow most of the time. They were quite easy to use, and fun to blow up some opposing players.
Graphics
The graphics are bold, cartoon-themed and colorful. I think they look great, however, I see through the laziness. When making a game that is in a birds-eye view, it’s very easy to get lazy with the details.
That’s not to say I think the graphics are bad, I just think birds-eye views can be an easy way out a lot of the time.
Music & Sounds
As we’re casual gamers, we love it when the background track is nice, casual music that doesn’t get annoying at all. It can be so frustrating when you’re just trying to play your favorite app game but it has the most annoying music in the world. Not with Zooba! I thought Zooba’s music fit in really well with the overall gameplay.
Controls
The controls are definitely super easy to remember, but not as easy to use. On the left-hand side of the screen, there is a joystick that you move to run around the zoo. On the right-hand side of the screen, there’s an attack button for your bomb, gun, and crossbow. There’s also a button to use your health packs.
The reason why I say they’re not as easy to use is that it can be difficult at times to aim the weapons at other players.

The Verdict
Zooba gets an overall 3/5 rating from me. This is due to the innovative twist on your standard battle royale game. Not to mention, this is definitely a great alternative for children who are not allowed to play violent games. I haven’t decided if I’m going to keep Zooba yet, but I do know that my little sister will love it.
