Gameplay
When entering the game, you’re thrown straight into a tutorial that you have the option to skip. I recommend going through the tutorial, even if you’re used to these types of games because there’s quite a bit to remember. You start by making a normal attack, which is the most basic action you can make. After all the characters in your party make their move, the enemy turn will begin so you need to make sure you’re strategic when attacking. On top of the normal attack, there’s an arte that is slightly more powerful and will do more damage.
In short, you need to win the battle using the best moves you can. But obviously, due to it being a turn-based battle, you need to think before you just hit random buttons. There’s a lot to the gameplay so make sure you follow the tutorial thoroughly so you don’t get confused.
Graphics
It comes as no surprise that an Anime game has great graphics because 99% of them do. I respect Anime game developers for always putting extra effort in to make sure their game is at top-notch quality visually.
Music & Sounds
Probably my favorite part of Tales of Crestoria is the fact the characters actually speak. Yes, they speak in Japanese but I think that just adds to the amazing culture that is Anime. There are subtitles so you can understand what they’re saying but it’s nice to be able to get a feel for their personality through the way the characters speak.
Controls
The controls mostly consist of tapping on the correct button in order to make an attack and that’s about it. You can’t control what happens to you while the opponent is making their move.

The Verdict
Although I don’t play Anime games as much as I should, I can always appreciate the amount of effort that goes into making them. I’m also a big fan of turn-based battle games so this just has it all. I am definitely going to keep Tales of Crestoria on my phone for the time being because I’d love to be able to take my powers to the limit.
