Hey Casual Gamers! Sometimes it just takes some grit and determination to conquer the forces of evil. Other times it just takes a few plucky heroes and weapons galore! If you’re ready to go on a casual adventure, check out this review of Archero!
Graphics & Gameplay
Archero gives off a peaceful cartoon vibe while taking players on the hunt to kill everything that moves! I’m sure there’s an evil villain plotting evil somewhere, but this casual app is a dungeon crawler (more like room crawler) with up to 50 levels each chapter. Each room have monsters that must be taken down before entering the next level.
Truthfully, there’s more to do outside of actually playing than when it’s time for combat. This makes the focus when fighting that better.
After the last minion dies by your hand and you walk toward the next level, you have a chance depending on the coins drop to level up! You can level up to 10 times while in the dungeon. Choosing wisely can elevate you to a personal best!
Music & Sounds
Wow, this soundtrack is pretty legit. There’s not too many apps I can say that about. There’s an interesting lute player that strums gently while you guide through the few lists of menus. I suppose the only bad I could say about the sounds is that sometimes the explosions while fight can be weird.
Is that really a negative tho? It’s like a tiny smudge on an awesome cup. I always do my best to find a headset before I enter dungeons.
Controls
Finally, a great game with the simplest controls. Most actions will be point and click, but when in combat, all you get to defend yourself is a joystick! no buttons, or ultimates to fire off. When you are on the move, you cannot fire, so the real challenge lies in dodging bullets and avoiding collisions while trying to sustain DPS (damage per second).
To me, this defines what I want out of a casual game. Quick rounds, simple controls, and a soundtrack that won’t make my ears bleed!
The Power of In-App Purchases
Now, the real question is: Is Archero going to cost me money to do good? The long answer is no. The answer is long because you will have to do some grinding to get better.
The only real way money pays off is if you come across some epic gear. Purple gear is pretty powerful and comes out the purple chest. It’s not all the time, so it’s a bit of a gatcha. This can be done for under 20 bucks, but there’s still a grind to be had after finding some purple gear.
Honestly, if you get into Archero, it’s best to just grind it out of the beginning. Making a pure offensive build can pay off quicker than most stats.
Verdict
Ultimately, Archero is packed full of action and great content. I was looking for some great archery games, and the app store wowed me with this title. If it’s action you are looking for and a toon to buff to the max, look no further than this epic casual app.
Don’t forget to keep up to date will anything Archero via social media pages! There you can find some really great build and advice on how to overcome a certain level.
Happy Gaming, and as always, keep it casual!
