Mobile Gaming Giants Team Up To Encourage Players To Protect The Planet
A group of mobile game industry giants, boasting an active user base of 250m players and behind games including Subway Surfers, Angry Birds, and Golf Clash, have come together to encourage people to do more to care for the planet. The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)-facilitated Playing for the Planet Alliance, which launched in September 2019, is behind the project.
“We are excited to see the gaming industry throw its weight behind global efforts to reverse the climate crisis,” said the Executive Director of UNEP. “The climate emergency needs all hands on deck. In reaching out to 250m gamers, we hope to inspire audiences to take action.”
It’s great to see mobile game developers getting involved with saving the planet as it’s so important. Influencing your audience to do something good that doesn’t just involve trying to sell your game earns you a lot of respect from us! BTS Has a New Mobile Game Where Users Can Create Their Own Stories
With the success of BTS World, it seems there is a demand for another BTS game. Netmarble recently announced that a new game called BTS Universe Story will soon be released to app stores worldwide. Unlike BTS World, however, BTS Universe Story will allow users to “create and share stories” with each other. “The app allows players to explore existing stories based on BTS Universe, create and share stories of their own featuring the group, and interact with other players.” “The main feature of the game, BTS Universe Story‘s Create Story mode gives writers the ability to create their own stories using in-game production tools. Play Story mode provides already-created, interactive stories that develop as players make choices that shape the narrative.”
If you’re a big fan of BTS and their game BTS World, this is exciting news! We personally aren’t huge fans of the game, but would be more than happy to give BTS Universe Story a go and see if it lives up to the hype!

George Orwell’s Animal Farm Becoming a Video Game From The Makers of Reigns
The game is being made by Reigns studio Nerial with Failbetter creative director Emily Short. Some good pedigree there. The narrator is Abubakar Salim, the voice of Bayek in Assassin’s Creed: Origins. And it’s published by The Dairymen, who are Bossa Studios founder Imre Jele and AppyNation founder Andy Payne.
“When we got the opportunity to work with Imre, Andy, and the estate of George Orwell to bring Animal Farm to a gaming audience we grabbed it with both hands and set out to make a game that truly honors Orwell’s parable,” Nerial founder Tamara Alliot said. “We were able to bring our genre experience to the project thanks to Reigns, and writer, Emily Short was excited to adapt the text and use her narrative design prowess. Emily has painstakingly studied Orwell’s text to ensure authenticity and verisimilitude.” Animal Farm is coming to Steam this autumn. It’ll also be on mobile doodads.
Remember reading Animal Farm in school and having to analyze every page? Well, now you can relive that horrible memory through a video game! Personally, we’re not too excited about this game, however, we feel it might make the storyline a little more interesting. Let us know if you’re going to buy it!

‘Breath of The Wild 2’ Release Date Announcement Teased by Retail Leak
Nintendo might soon have some news to share about the upcoming release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2.
French computer and gaming retailer World Trade & Technologies (WT&T) has allegedly leaked the fact that there will be a BotW 2 Collector’s Edition, and part of the leak includes the European price tag of 82.85 euros. The placeholder listing for the future Zelda game was first spotted by Nintendo news site Loot Pots on Tuesday and came days after multiple trusted Nintendo insiders teased the possibility of a late-August or September Direct presentation. WT&T didn’t reveal much else other than the fact that there will be a premium version of BotW 2 and its price. The site listed the game’s release date at “December 31, 2020” but this is most likely a placeholder as the retailer waits for Nintendo to confirm the game’s actual release date.
Zelda fans (like us at The Casual App Gamer) are itching for a sequel to BotW, especially since the first game was such a success. It literally brought Nintendo back into the business. However, we don’t think it’ll be here until late 2021 because Nintendo hasn’t said much. But let’s hope we’re wrong.
