Gameplay
Uphill Rush Water Park Racing’s gameplay is simple but very fun. The point of it all is to race against the clock (and opponent) to get to the end of the water course. You will come across upside down slides, bars, tables, coins, and other obstacles to slow you down. Luckily for you, there is a boost button that costs one gem to use. You can customize your character and rubber dingy to how you want it and the theme of the game changes depending on the holiday. Right now it’s still Halloween themed.
Graphics
Uphill Rush Water Park Racing’s graphics aren’t the prettiest. They’re animated and it looks like it took someone 10 minutes to create them. Apart from this, they are super colorful and I love how nothing lags. I’ve only had one instance where the app crashed.
As it has just been Halloween, the theme for Uphill Rush Water Park Racing is well… obviously Halloween. There is a scary night sky and you can collect pumpkins during the race – I assume this is in replacement of something else when the game looks normal.
Music
The music drove me pretty insane – it’s just your basic “surfer dude” music repeated constantly until you end up putting your phone on silent. Fortunately, there is an option to turn down the music or mute it completely if you want to.
Uphill Rush Water Park Racing’s sound doesn’t really do the game any justice either. You can hear the sound of the water, the screams of people when you hit them, bottles smashing when you go through the bar and a noise when you collect gold.
Controls
The controls for Uphill Rush Water Park Racing are very easy to understand and don’t make the game any worse or better. The only controls are on the left and right-hand side of your screen. On the right is how you control how fast your character moves, left arrow to slow down and right to speed up. I pretty much had my finger on the right arrow the whole time as I didn’t feel a need to slow down, especially in a race. On the left-hand side of the screen, there are also two arrows, they are to control how you land after you do a flip – try not to land on your head as it’ll slow you down!

The verdict
I really enjoyed playing Uphill Rush Water Park Racing, mainly because of how unique it is. When you type racing games into the search bar on the app store, I can promise you that the vast majority of them will be to do with cars. Bringing the fun from summer to your smartphone, Uphill Rush Water Park Racing has a lot of potentials to be an amazing game, however, if I was Spil Games, I would make an effort to improve the graphics because they really aren’t the best.
