Parkour Race offers players a shot at a high stakes parkour race across the world. Is this simple and casual way of being above the rest worth your casual time and phone space?

Gameplay
Parkour Race is rather simple. Players start in a race with others (mostly bots) across the rooftops of buildings. Eventually obstacles will cross the players path that work as boost and jump boosters. flipping and sliding over this obstacles multiple times give players a massive boost above the competition.
This is probably the most casual approach to running! Matches are rather quick, and the goal is always first place.
Graphics
Parkour Race is not getting any rewards in the graphics department.
Prizes for winning races is the customization of player figures. With a fairly decent list of accessories, this itself could be a reason to log in at least few times a day.
The levels, while random is just a gray blah of a city. With obstacles and side ramps painted Orange, it’s easy to navigate the best path to victory.
Thankfully, everything else is colorful to make up for the landscape.
Music
Parkour Race offers little if any sounds and background music. While obviously this a big miss, it also works as a grinding boom. If you happen to just want to jam out to a playlist while gaming, this might be the right choice for you.
I’m not even sure what kind of chimes or music would be added to it if I was in charge of making a track. In it’s own weird and casual way, no sound works well for this casual app.
Controls
Parkour Race has casual but sometimes annoying controls. While side to side controls are the only thing to manage, the navigating of the landscape can be frustrating.
This of course could be done by design, as obtaining multiple power-ups negate most of this problem.
Should players be unlucky however, runners will slowly scale up buildings. Scaling on the side of buildings without a power up of some kind could lead players to the bottom, with a respawn point further than they were.
The Power of in-app Purchases
Players looking to grind on Parkour Race should consider making a purchase. While the offers aren’t the most enticing, they do remove a majority of the advertisements. Without a purchase, most races end with an ad in order to proceed to the next.
This of course can be undone with airplane mode for endless gameplay.
Ultimately, this purchase is up to the casual player on which route is the best path. None of the purchases enhance gameplay, so at the end of the day it’s all just skins.
The Verdict
So, is Parkour Race worth the space on your phone or tablet? As a casual grinder of a game, I would approve it! This isn’t a game that’s played everyday, but when it’s time to log in, its always worth the time drained to get into first place. Boredom is mildly defeated with this casual app.
