Gameplay
The aim of the game is simple: don’t fall! You’re put onto a platform with a number of other players and the idea is to not fall through, but be careful, the parts of the platform you run on will fall off. Don’t stop moving! Luckily, if you get close to a small gap, you’re able to jump over it which I didn’t realize until I was a few rounds in.
Graphics
Although the graphics weren’t exactly to my taste, other players in the review section of the app store were praising them. I realize that this is subjective to what you might deem as good but I think they were boring, plain, and just lacked depth.
Music & Sounds
There’s no music in Do Not Fall.io which I admit I expected, but there are sounds. You’ll hear a ‘plop’ noise every time you remove one of the tiles by walking on them but that’s about as far as it goes.
Controls
To control your character, just drag your finger around the screen. This is about as simple as it gets but it’s perfect for a casual game like this.
The Power of in-app Purchases
There are no items or upgrades you can purchase and there are no ways to remove ads, so it’s something you just have to deal with if you enjoy this game. I found that the ads were far too frequent to not be annoying.
The Verdict
If you were hoping by reading this review that I was going to tell you it’s exactly like Fall Guys, I’m sorry but it’s not. Unfortunately, Do Not Fall.io has been advertised as a hot new game that replicates Fall Guys but it’s just a simple game with a hell of a lot of ad breaks. I’m not going to keep this on my phone as I’ll never open it.
