A Beginner’s Guide to My Friend Pedro

A Beginner’s Guide to My Friend Pedro

We reviewed My Friend Pedro: Ripe for Revenge not too long ago and loved it, rating it a 4/5. It’s amazing for a free mobile platformer game in our opinion! We weren’t big on the controls, but once you get used to them they’re a piece of cake!

There are three stages to get through (with 12 levels)

  • The Old Town – The Old Town is where one of Pedro’s family members has been taken from the kidnappers and hidden. You have to face the Old Town mobsters and shoot them before they take you down themselves.
  • District Null – The second family member has been hidden here and is homeland to the Waste Pirates. Again, you have to take them down.
  • Fortified Forest – This is home to the Worshippers of Singing Mushroom. If you aren’t singing, they will shoot you down so make sure you shoot them first. The final family member is here.

There are tools to enhance your gameplay to the max

Throughout the game, you’ll be rewarded with all kinds of guns to shoot your enemies along the way. As you get through the harder levels, you’ll find ways to go faster with items such as skateboards, wheelie carts, and ziplines.

One of the coolest items is the pans you can get in the later stages. These will allow you to ricochet bullets off them so you can hit enemies.

Get Blood Rush mode for £2.49, it’s worth it

Blood Rush mode is included in the premium price. In this mode, you have a time limit to complete every single level and if you don’t, your character will die. It definitely adds more pressure to the gameplay!

Tips

Apart from the basics, there’s an array of tips that’ll help enhance your gameplay!

Look before you move

The only way you can move in this game is by rolling and jumping. This can become a problem if you don’t think thoroughly before making a move. Make sure you’re looking around first before you make jumps because you might run into traps or enemies!

Be strategic with your shooting

The exact moment you see an enemy, you need to tap them to take them out. Some enemies will naturally take longer than others so it’s important to make sure you’re tapping them properly. The enemies have three behavioral states that are in the form of colored timers. They are:

  • None – No timer means the enemy is unaware of your presence, which only happens if you’re not in their line of sight.
  • White Timer – They have seen you and are getting their weapon ready.
  • Yellow Timer – They have the weapon at the ready and are about to aim.
  • Red Timer – The enemy has been waiting for you and is ready to fire. This timer is the fastest.

Avoid falling into the traps

There are thorny traps scattered around from the get-go. If you accidentally fall into one, don’t panic! Just get out of it quickly to avoid dying or losing health

The walls can come in handy

Bouncing off of the walls can help you a hell of a lot. Although, if you’re on a wall and an enemy spots you, you need to shoot them straight away or they’ll get you first. But you can hide behind walls to take cover!

Hopefully, you’ll apply our tips and tricks to your gaming sessions and play the game as effectively as possible! Let us know what game you want to see a guide on next!
