Gameplay

Get ready to take part in your very own heist!

When I first found this game on the app store, it seemed like one of those really addictive games that no one knows about. And I was right. Armed Heist was only released in August 2018 so it’s a fairly new game.

Upon entering Armed Heist, you’re thrown straight into a heist and you’re taking part in a bank robbery (from what I could make out). It’s a fairly quick game so it’s hard to even take notice of your surroundings. All I knew is that I got a lot of money for completing the heist.

Anyway, I was told to by the tutorial to run behind large objects to automatically take cover. While you take cover, you can aim your gun at the police to shoot. And once you shoot, you come out of your cover. I found this really useful because I am no expert at shooting games for this exact reason. I find it hard to aim while not getting shot at, so this is the perfect game for shooting beginners.

As I said, once you get through all of the policemen, you are rewarded with a sum of money and with that money, you can either purchase new weapons or upgrade your current ones.

I noticed once I went through a few levels that you only need to shoot the first 6 or so policemen and if you haven’t been shot at much, you can run through the police despite them shooting at you, and get in the escape car. I like this because obviously, police wouldn’t disappear after you kill a few of them. They would keep appearing until they manage to kill you. So you might as well make a run for it.

Graphics

Armed Heist has breathtaking graphics!

The graphics are really good and they look phenomenal on the iPhone XS. So if you have a decent phone, please check out Armed Heist. The graphics are very smooth and they don’t lag at all like most games that have decent graphics. The theme of Armed Heist is dark, yet vibrant in color. Which I know doesn’t really make sense, but you’ll get it if you play it.

Seeing the screenshots in the app store, I thought it was going to be one of those “3D” games where the graphics are horrendous. If you’re familiar with app games, you’ll know exactly what I mean.

Music

As expected, the music fits the game perfectly. It’s motivating, a bit badass, and exactly the kind of music you’d want to hear if you were preparing for a big heist. The sounds are great, you can hear police sirens, shooting, policemen dying, when you get hit and much more. These sounds really do play a big part in the quality of the game.

Controls

Easy controls that won’t leave you confused!

The controls are simple. You drag the bottom right of the screen to aim, the left side of the screen to move your player, click the bullet to shoot and press your gun at the top to reload. As you may know, I love when controls are simple. It’s just a must for app games in my opinion. But obviously, I don’t like when the controls are so simple that the game is too easy. So this is a nice split.

The Power of in-app Purchases

Purchase weapons from the store!

All you can really buy in the store is new weapons that do technically get you further in the game but you can definitely play this game without spending a penny. There is no energy system or anything like that so you could definitely spend a hot minute on Armed Heist.

The Verdict

What did you think of Armed Heist?

If you’re looking for a game to play quickly on your lunch break, beware! This game is addictive and you might forget to go back to work! Honestly, Armed Heist really surprised me as it didn’t look like the best game out there and I was expecting to write a negative review.

But I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely give this game a go and let us know what you thought of it. Happy gaming!
