Speedy Wireless Gamepad PXN Review!

Speedy Wireless Gamepad PXN Game Controller

We have another controller review coming your way and we’re super excited about this one… If you want a mobile gaming controller that feels like a console controller and plays like one, then you’re in the right place. The Speedy Wireless Gamepad PXN Game Controller caught our eye due to how similar it looked to an Xbox controller and we fell in love.

Is it useful to casual gamers? Is it easily portable and does it work with multiple games? Keep reading to find out more!

Usefulness

When I first opened up the box, I noticed that the Speedy Wireless Gamepad PXN Controller looked like a real console controller and that’s when I knew it was going to be good. I have to admit, I was a little confused when I set it up because I thought I had to download an app for it to work. But I didn’t! All you need to do is connect it to Bluetooth, download any of the chosen games, and the games will change controls. What I mean by this is instead of the game telling you to tap somewhere, it’ll tell you to press ‘A’ or the pause button. This technology blew my mind because the only set up was connecting it to Bluetooth – and I was definitely impressed!

I played War Tortoise as this looked like it would have a good improvement on the gameplay and I was right. I found it easier to hit my targets and avoid the shots at me. The Speedy Wireless Gamepad PXN Controller has great response time so there’s no need to fret about being quick enough.

I will most likely use this controller when I want to play a long session as I find that holding my phone hurts my wrists after a while. The controller takes all the strain out of my wrists so I’m only using my fingers to play.

Did I mention that it works with Apple TV? Yeah, the ultimate console-feeling controller!

Portability

I found that the Speedy Wireless Gamepad PXN Controller isn’t as portable as the other controllers we’ve used. This is due to the fact it is very similar to how console controllers are so it’s a little bulkier and there’s a risk of the buttons being scratched. When in the box it takes up even more space so I probably wouldn’t travel with this unless I knew I had the room.

The controller draws attention as I said, it’s quite bulky. But as it looks like a console controller, it gets the right amount of attention and all in a good way.

Does it work with multiple games?

It works with a vast majority of games but I decided to try it out with War Tortoise and Shadowgun Legends.

I found that it worked absolutely perfectly with War Tortoise and I had an amazing experience playing with it. However, with Shadowgun Legends, the controller made it harder to aim at enemies. I think it all depends on what game you’re playing and as I am used to playing Shadowgun Legends with the touchscreen, it felt really weird to be playing it with a controller.

The Verdict

Overall, out of the 3 controllers I have reviewed so far on The Casual App Gamer, this one has to be my favorite. This is because of how easy it was to set up – there was no reason to calibrate the buttons and you can jump straight in. I do wish it was compatible with more games but I thoroughly enjoyed using it for War Tortoise.

If you can’t afford a real console, this controller will make it feel like you’re playing a console game. We’re always looking for ways to improve our gaming experience and this was the perfect tool.
