In Reigns: Beyond you get the chance to join an intergalactic indie rockband and make your way through planet to planet to make it big time!
You ultimately control what happens by swiping left and right to pick your fate. It’s really exciting to play a game like this that doesn’t revolve around romance, like Episode or Choices for example. The storyline is really engrossing, and I enjoyed meeting and chatting with all the characters.
I really loved the simplicity of the graphics. They were also bright, colorful, and detailed in all the right places. I found the theme to be very old-school retro which made my heart happy!
Along with the retro graphics, the music and sounds also fit in with the theme perfectly. The music in the background is an original soundtrack by Sam Webster and keeps the game interesting and suspenseful.
To control, swipe left or right. Whether you swipe left or right depends on your answer so make sure you swipe slowly to see which answer you’re going to make.
As this is a game included in the Apple Arcade subscription (£4.99), it has no in-app purchases or ads. Any coins collected in the game have to be made through playing.
I haven’t played any of the other Reigns games but I certainly will now I’ve had a go at this one. Reigns: Beyond was a delight to play with a gripping storyline, interesting characters, and amazing music and sounds. It’s definitely one to add to your phone!
