Gaming on a Budget

Gaming can be expensive, but that doesn’t mean anyone should miss out. But we’re here to save the day again! We have a few tips for you if you want to have the ultimate gaming experience without breaking the bank…

Check game reviews

Before buying any game, check reviews online! That’s why we’re here. We go through well-loved and well-hated games and tell you what we thought of them so you don’t waste your time! By doing this, you will save time, money, and stress by just avoiding said game completely.

Rent or buy used games

Nowadays you can get new games for quite cheap by buying them second-hand or renting them. This will ensure that you’re not spending any more money than you should on a game you might not like.

Sell your old games

If you have any games that you don’t play anymore, sell them on eBay. You’d be surprised by how much money you can get, especially if it’s a well-loved game. This way you can use that money to buy something bigger and better!

Premium over freemium

When it comes to mobile games, we recommend downloading premium games rather than freemium. Freemium is a game that you can download for free, but eventually, you’ll have to use in-app purchases in order to get any further. With premium, you pay once when you download and you get the full game.

Don’t buy into FOMO

It can become ridiculously tempting to want to purchase a new game on its release date, but this can easily burn a hole in your pocket. Of course, it’s a great feeling being one of the first to play a long-awaited game, however, you may regret doing so once you see how much the game decreases in price over time. While you wait, just play the games you already have!

Share with your friends

This is a tricky one if you don’t have many friends that are also gamers, but if you do, this may work in your favor. Your friends will have different games to you which means you can borrow a game from them and in return, you can let them play one of yours. This is an amazing way to save money and to spark conversations with your friends as you both would’ve played the same game by the end of it!

It’s ok to splurge sometimes

Not everything has to be so cheap, even when you’re on a budget. If you do want to purchase a brand new game at full price, go for it. But don’t make a habit of it because that’s when it gets expensive. Enjoy yourself and play what you want to play.
