Hey Casual Gamers!  When it comes to randomness, most people think that there has to be a predictable pattern.  The truth of it is that true randomness it beyond our comprehension.

That said, lets roll some dice and see if RNG is on our side with this casual review of Dice Mage 2!

Gameplay

Take a roll of the dice and battle the monsters wrecking the place!

Let’s Journey to a world where you are powerful mage and you just saw a host of monsters destroy the world!  That’s how Dice Mage 2 opens and puts you on the quest to thwart these monsters using your trusty magical dice!

This has a very unique RPG feel that’s hard to come by!  Most of the game is ran by the luck of the dice, and the gear acquired augments what happens to your dice.

All this leads to some pretty intense fights!

Graphics

Maps come in levels and get progressively harder.

Dice Mage 2 has the type of graphics that seem a bit offputting at first, but really grows on you after a few plays.  It’s not by far the best, considering it’s a two year old app.  At the same time there’s a charm to how it looks and make playing more enjoyable!

Even the menus are not too hard to look at.  Usually you would see print too small to look at or worse, but Dice Mage 2 has put the polish where it needs to be!

Music

A Handy Spellbook lets you know what all symbols mean during a fight!

So the music isn’t really much to write about.  It’s about as lackluster as the graphics.  Thankfully the gameplay makes up for the misses.

Surprisingly this casual app works well with a hyped playlist and muted volume!  Even the sound effects are pretty meh at best.

Controls

Defeat monsters to gain chances for upgraded gear!

Casual clicks lead the way for this casual app!  There’s a great deal to explore, not to mention a powerful RNG cleanser move that does massive damage and a reshuffle of dice.

The best part of this casual app was that nothing felt out of place and there weren’t any extra buttons needed to be pressed.

The Power of in-app Purchases

Gems are the lifeblood of many decisions in Dice Mage 2!

So, is this casual app really worth money?  I’m still undecided on this!

For the simple fact that most of the extra decisions, like getting another chance at rolls, relies heavily  on gems.

For starters, I’ve had many gems thrown at me through playing.  However, should you wish to keep gemming your way out of bad RNG, it will cost you!  Gems are needed for most of your rerolls, or more importantly, a reshuffle of dice during a battle.

This should be expected, because the developers need money too!

A good sale or something like a starters pack would make this a more optimal buy.  For someone reason I just don’t feel justified buying one item in game.

Maybe I’m just spoiled with VIP settings in other casual apps.

The Verdict

Try your luck with the treasure chest dice to get legendary rewards!

Dice Mage 2 looks like it’s a keeper!  You have to do your best to bypass the subpar graphics and music.  It’s some pretty solid gameplay!

It’s not the best looking casual app out there, but the added bonuses to dice give it an edge over a good portion of the apps out there today!
