Gameplay
The gameplay starts with a guy just chilling out, sleeping between two palm trees until he’s woken up by a bug kidnapping his dog. This makes him angry and all of a sudden he has a gun in his hands, people start to point to a load of bugs and other baddies that need to be killed.
The gameplay is fun, fast-paced and tricky at times. As there are a few ways to kill the enemies (shooting, rocket launcher, and bombing), there’s never a boring moment in Bombastic Brothers – Top Squad.
Graphics
Bombastic Brothers is very similar to old school arcades in almost everything, except for how it looks. Instead of going for the classic pixel art, this game looks very modern. So you can play your classic 2D shooting games, with fresh, vibrant graphics.
Music & Sounds
As for the music and sounds, they fit in perfectly with the arcade theme with the tinny music that gets pretty annoying after a while and the repetitive shooting noises.
Controls
The controls are easy to follow, although there are quite a few buttons to remember in Bombastic Brothers – Top Squad. On the left-hand side of the screen, there is a pad to move your player left and right. And on the right-hand side of the screen, there is a button to jump, release a rocket launcher, release a bomber and shoot from your gun. With the rocket launcher and bomb, you have 5 seconds to wait to use it again.

The Verdict
In conclusion, I love how retro Bombastic Brothers – Top Squad is with the fresh graphics and interesting characters. Although I loved the gameplay and the graphics, I found that the sounds could definitely be improved. The characters could have their own voices rather than having to read the script and I’d like to hear more noises apart from shooting.
