Traditional crossword games begin with a board full of letters that make words, although they may look jumbled up at first. However, in Word Crush, the board isn’t full, but that doesn’t mean it’s easier. There are 3-8 words piled up in a load of blocks and it’s your job to find them.
Some levels are really easy and I could complete them in no time but some were so hard I was swiping wherever I could in order to find a word.
The good news about randomly swiping is that if you find words that don’t fit in with the topic, they’ll be counted as bonus words and will count towards the number of coins you get at the end.
When it comes to word games, I’m not too fussy about what they look like as long as it’s fun. With Word Crush, you can unlock background themes while you’re playing. This is great as it means the themes will change all the time, and they’re always relaxation themed so they’re perfect.
The music is really calming and makes me want to put my feet up and play this game all day.
If you’ve found a word to do with the topic, swipe the letter until you’re holding down all of the necessary ones and let go. This will cross off a word from your list.
At the bottom of the screen, there are power-ups you can tap in order to help you. They cost coins, though, so use them sparingly.
Games like this always get me addicted for months on end. I love the satisfaction of completing a level along with the relaxing and no-pressure aspect of the gameplay.
