Warcraft Rumble offers an upgraded and updated real time strategy of it’s predecessor now on mobile! Is this new type of Warcraft worth your casual time?

Gameplay
Welcome to Warcraft! This real time strategy game puts players in the role of a commander utilizing troops to destroy the enemy or fellow player. Warcraft Rumble differs vastly from the PC game you father played by making players unlock minion and minion types slowly as they progress throughout the game.
There’s a Clash Royale feel to this casual app, but with a better skin. The campaign gameplay is rather massive and helps with building the collection of heroes and minions that can eventually lead to better strategies in PVP (Player Vs Player).
PVP is pretty competitive and starts off balanced. Anyone looking to play for free however should give a major focus to PVE (Player Vs Environment) before tackling or face becoming a farm for other PVP players.
Graphics
For anyone who has played any Blizzard game, the look for Warcraft Rumble is on par with that. This casual app has a cartoonist feel with flashy effects. Fireballs, dragon’s breath, and even status effects have a great way of immersing players into the fight.
If you aren’t really a fan of the more cartoon vibe Warcraft offers, the gameplay won’t make you change your mind. Those who have logged countless hours into World of Warcraft should feel right at home.
Those who are starting your Warcraft journey should actually find this casual app a solid introduction to an expansive world.
Music
Warcraft Rumble comes with an engaging soundtrack and sound effects to keep you playing for hours! With any strategy game, there are queues to always listen for and pings to check while fighting. Those who aren’t casual veterans of the genre should get a good set of headphones for extended play.
Naturally most notifications come with something visual, but with multiple events happening at the same time, listening for a gold mine to pop up could help give the edge need for the push to victory!
Alternatively, playing without sound works rather well for this casual app as well. Those looking to grind with a playlilst should find that the meshing of the two sounds goes rather well with gameplay.
Controls
Thankfully, the controls for Warcraft Rumble are rather simple, but attention is needed. When it comes to combat, the starting place for minions to spawn depends on the map. After destroying towers or completing objectives different locations can be use to spawn minions.
Protecting this new spawning points come into play as gold slowly recharges limiting how fast minions can be played. Always use caution about using all the gold on a push as this can leave you vulnerable to counter plays.
Spells are another great tool for combat that just needs a drag and drop at the right location. Each spell does something different so plan accordingly as some spells only get one shot before rotating.
The Power of in-app Purchases
So with the need of collecting minions and heroes, of course there would be some type of cash grab for those wanting to get a leg up.
Warcraft Rumble can be played without the need of making a purchase, that said the purchases made really do give a bang for one’s buck. Looking for good sales is the key to make purchases go that extra mile.
There doesn’t seem to be a purchase for that one minion, rather players can buy gold and other items to take a spin on the grid that offers different minions or some with a star that upgrades minions in exchange for Arc Energy.
So, is it worth it to make a purchase? Well for those stuck at a level and need a jolt of power, it might not be so bad. To others, the challenge is in the gameplay, so making a purchase probably won’t change much unless there’s a meta in PVP that has you stuck.
The Verdict
Overall, this is a welcomed addition to my phone! Warcraft Rumble offers quick battles with a strategic feel that feels great to play or casually grind. With daily rewards and quests that offer xp for minions, there’s countless ways to expand without breaking the bank to play.
PVP seasons changes often so finding a great few decks to use could allow you to climb to the top of the leaderboards.
