Today on The Casual App Gamer we bring you Videogame Guardians. This is a fairly new game that was released this year and it’s all about preparing all the necessities for gameplay all by yourself. You will get the chance to be the person in the video game who prepares all the “fun stuff”. Ready for the challenge?
Videogame Guardians Gameplay
I’m not going to lie, it took a while to understand how Videogame Guardians work. I don’t know if I’m stupid but the tutorial wasn’t very clear. However, upon doing a little bit of research – I found out what the aim of the game was.
The aim of the game is to recruit the best guardians in your party to defeat the monsters and bosses in the fun-filled battles. The initial levels are pretty easy, but as you progress, it becomes more difficult to keep up. You begin the game in adventure mode – adventure mode is the easiest mode in Videogame Guardians and once you reach level 2, dungeon mode gets unlocked.
The game modes include:
- PvP – battle against players all over the world
- Dungeon Mode – the mode gets you free equipment material, soul stones and more
- Pyramids – This is one of the most difficult modes in Videogame Guardians, but the rewards are amazing
- Boss raids
Your guardians attack automatically in all 4 of these modes and your task is to continuously power up. 1-star, 2-star, and 3-star guardians are useless. 5-star guardians are the superior; with high damage & HP power. However, initially, you have one 5-star character and the rest are 4-star, 3-star, 2-star, 1-star. Your objective is to build the best 5-star guardians you can.
At headquarters, you can access Mine, Lab, and Workroom. Mine is where your miners produce gold. The workroom is locked and you unlock it by unlocking magi-mecha city. Gold is required to upgrade guardians. Flash is required for researching. If you upgrade and unlock miners, you will produce more gold per 5 seconds.
Videogame Guardians Graphics
The graphics are very basic – in a good way though. Like Terraria, Videogame Guardians gives you that Super Nintendo 16-bit era vibe and it works. The graphics are very bright, colorful and friendly and I enjoy that there is always something going on even if you’re not playing.
Videogame Guardians Music
The sounds and music in Videogame Guardians are a little bit overwhelming – there’s a lot going on. The music is very fast paced and loud. There is also constant punching noises coming from the game you’re watching at the top. I didn’t like this and turned off all sounds as I just couldn’t deal with it anymore – it made me want to stop playing the game. Not good.
Videogame Guardians Controls
This is purely a tapping game and it keeps the gameplay simple and easy to play if you have a spare 5 minutes to kill.
If you go to the headquarter, you can mine gold for coins and each time you upgrade, the gold increases. All you have to do is tap the buttons on the right side of the screen to do this. It’s fairly self-explanatory. You also need to mine gold to be able to hire the spider and/or the squid.
You then use the lab tab in the headquarter tab to the max number of guardians increased to 7, miner employment cost decreased by 20% and miner collects 0% more gold.
Videogame Guardians The power of in-app purchases
There are quite a few packs in this game that are definitely worth the money. To name a few:
- Publi’s Lovely Diamond Box – Every day log-in bonus package! Receive 5600 diamonds in total, over 28 days! (£4.99)
- Patch’s Luxury Diamond Box – Every day log-in bonus package! Receive 14000 diamonds in total, over 28 days! + 3 interview tickets every day! (£14.99)
- Cheat’s Thrilling Speed Pack – 7-days 3-times game speed booster package! 3 times faster game speed for 7 days! + 200 diamonds will be delivered daily! (£4.99)
- 300 Diamonds – (£2.99)
- 550 Diamonds – 500 diamonds + 50 bonus included (£4.99)
and so on… You can get up to 15000 diamonds for £99.99.
There are ways you can obtain 4-star and 5-star characters and progress quickly. They are:
Reach level 3 as fast as you can – Once you reach level 3, Pyramid Mode gets unlocked. Complete the first 15 stages of Pyramid Mode and obtain 4-star and 5-star recruitment tickets. Pyramid Mode is the answer to obtain powerful 5-star and 4-star guardians, however, it becomes harder as you go on.
Unlock miners – As you progress in the game, the cost of upgrading guardians will increase a lot. It’s important to unlock new miners to increase the production of gold per 5 seconds.
Claim free vaults – If you go to the shop section in the game, tap the video ad to speed up the game. The video ads will also give extra vaults. The amount of gold you get from vaults depends on your current progress in the game. Make sure to upgrade your miners and guardians to get more gold from the vault.
Focus on your most high-quality guardians – As I previously mentioned, 1 and 2-star guardians are pretty useless, 3-star is okay and 4 and 5-star guardians are great. To have success from the very beginning, try to build a party of 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star guardians.
The Verdict
So, what’s the verdict? I have many mixed feelings about Videogame Guardians as it was pretty confusing at first because of the tutorial. My favorite part of the game is that you get to see video games from a different point of view and get to be in charge of a game that someone else is playing. However, I don’t think I would recommend this game to anyone above the age of 13, I just think it becomes quite boring and repetitive after a while. Although, if you’re looking for a game to play when you’re trying to kill time – this is it.
