Hey Casual Gamers! Sorry for the brief pause of apps as of late. We have relocated and updated our servers to better serve you, our most epic of casual gamers!
Gameplay
When The Wolf: Online RPG Simulator was first downloaded, I didn’t know what to expect from the title – and I thought that living as a wolf might become a little bit boring after a while. I was pretty much spot on. As you enter the game, you get to pick a name and how you wolf looks and then you’re put into a map where other animals plus wolves exist. You can’t attack the wolves but you can attack any small animals that come in your path to level up, just watch out for the predators. Apart from that, I am not entirely sure what the purpose of the game is as animals only appear if you go up to them first. Also, the map is pretty boring in general.
I was pretty shocked by how boring I found the gameplay considering it’s rated 4.7 stars on the app store.
Review on the app store:
“I love this game because it’s fun and addicting I love it so much this is why I have rated it 5 stars also because I’m addicted to wolves ? as they are my favorite animals I love them so much I’m so into them I even act as I wolf sometimes until I saw this game my life wasn’t complete without this game you can hunt in packs together have battles with big bears and foxes ? and rabbits ? deer ? stag all different animals you get the point now I can’t get off the game! I think you should download this if you love wolves you will definitely get addicted in 5 seconds as I did. So I would like to share my love with this game onto a review for you guys… – BunnyHoper123”
From that review alone, it is obvious that The Wolf: Online RPG Simulator was made for younger children rather than those older than 15. I can just see my younger siblings loving this game and being able to be in the shoes (or paws) of a wolf.
Graphics
The graphics are probably what stood out for me the most when I saw The Wolf: Online RPG Simulator on the app store. They’re 3D and very detailed along with being nature based in terms of colors and the animals plus characters move perfectly with no glitching. The only slight glitch I noticed was once when I set up to run, my wolf character was gliding and not using his feet but it was fixed within seconds.
Music & Sounds
The Wolf: Online RPG Simulator contains no music but as quite a few relevant sounds that make the game realistic. When you’re running, you can hear your wolf’s footsteps, when you attack an animal you can hear growling, when you go past an animal, you can hear their specific sound and so on… In the background noise, you can hear birds and just nature in general. All of these sounds are included because it makes the game feel more realistic as a simulator.
Controls
The controls are simple, however, they will make you feel dizzy. On the bottom left of the screen, there is a pad that you drag to move around but it’s quite hard to control and sometimes your wolf will just run wherever he wants. On the bottom right, your skills sit and you can click on whichever one you want to use.
The Power of in-app Purchases
When it comes to purchases, there are in-app purchases available and they come in two currencies: gems and points. From what I gathered from the gameplay, gems allow you to upgrade your skills, purchase new wolf skins, and the points allow you to upgrade attributes. Also, there are premium options that last for a number of days.
- 5-day premium +50% XP and +50% points for 500 gems
- 30-day premium +50% XP and +50% points for 1500 gems
Personally, I don’t find these purchases to be worth it because the game is pretty dull anyway, however, they could be worth it for younger players.
The Verdict
The Wolf: Online RPG Simulator is a decent game for the younger person, but not for anyone over the age of 15. I can see how it would be appealing to someone who is a big animal lover and has always wanted to experience what a wolf experiences. But it most definitely isn’t for me. This game also has great graphics and an okay control system that isn’t too hard to figure out.
