Gameplay
I don’t know about you, but I’ve had Super Salon advertised to me through other games about 20 times in the past week so I thought that was a sign to give it a go and let you guys know how it is! If you’ve seen the ads, you’ll know the aim of the game is to own a salon and get through clients by giving them the treatment they want. It can be anything from eyebrow threading to blackhead removal and through playing the levels, you can unlock new treatments to do on your clients!
Graphics
The graphics didn’t impress me much. The clients were pretty emotionless and boring to look at, however, I liked the idea of the social media post after the client was happy. It really reflects real life – I mean, who doesn’t take a selfie straight after a beauty appointment?!
Music & Sounds
Super Salon currently has no music and sounds which is a shame. A nice addition would be if the clients said something after their appointment so you can get an even better feel of if they like the result. In the ads, Lion Studios make it seem as if the clients talk to you throughout the session but that’s a lie.
It doesn’t bother me too much about the music and sounds, but it would make a difference to the gameplay and that’s super important if you want to keep people playing.
Controls
To control the beauty appliances on the face, just drag it to the problem area. I have no complaints about the controls as they’re easy to follow and fit in with the gameplay perfectly.
The Power of in-app Purchases
Like similar games on the app store, Super Salon doesn’t currently offer in-app purchases apart from the removal of ads which costs £2.99. This definitely comes in handy for those (like me) who find constant ads annoying.
The Verdict
Although there might be an appeal for Super Salon for some people, it just didn’t do it for me. Searching through the top played games on the app store, so many people are playing these types of games which shows they’re popular. I just don’t understand the hype.
