Gameplay

The gameplay was nothing special!

When I saw Subway Surfers Blast on the app store, I was incredibly confused. Sybo Games has a similar game called Subway Surfers Match which we’ve already reviewed (so go check that out if you haven’t already).

While Match is about match-3 games to spray paint trains, Blast is about match-3 games to fix Jake’s hangout area. They’re essentially the same game with different storylines – it just depends on what story stands out to you.

Graphics

The graphics got an upgrade!

The graphics were slightly different from anything I’ve seen Sybo Games produce. Jake was a lot more animated and the surroundings were a lot more detailed.

Music & Sounds

The gameplay audio was very relaxing to keep you in the mindset of a soft puzzle game, however, it got a lot more intense once you complete the level. I’m not sure if I’m the biggest fan of this as someone who likes to curl up on the sofa and play these games.

Controls

Tap to control!

Like with all match-3 games, you tap on the blocks in order to destroy them. The goals were different each time, but for example, you might have a goal to smash all the water balloons next to the blocks!

The Verdict

What did you think?!

This game wasn’t bad in the slightest, but it’s nothing new. I’m still really confused as to why Subway Surfers made this game in the first place when they already have one that’s similar! I’m probably not going to keep this on my phone.

If you decide to download Subway Surfers Blast, let us know what you think and if you agree or disagree with any of the things we said. Happy gaming and stay casual!
