Shoot enemies and build your base!

Although Stormshot quite clearly has a story to it, I couldn’t have been less interested. It was boring, too long to follow, and to be honest, I just wanted to complete the mini-games. Now the mini-games were a lot of fun! The aim is to shoot the enemy in one hit but there are certain objects blocking you so you have to be strategic.

I have to say, I haven’t seen gameplay quite like this before so I thoroughly enjoyed myself. A game with a unique feature to it always wins in my books.

The graphics were questionable at best!

The graphics were when things started to get a bit questionable. The building aspect of the game looks like every other in the same genre. As for the shooting mini-games, it was nothing impressive. In fact, I felt a little uncomfortable with the dance the captain did whenever I hit the target. Weird.

Music & Sounds

The audio for this game is weird and makes absolutely no sense. While you’re in building mode, you’ll notice typical pirate-themed noises and music that is probably in your favorite fantasy Netflix show. However, when you get to the mini-games of shooting the enemies, the music gets really upbeat and doesn’t fit in well with the genre at all. Not sure how to feel about this.

Drag and release to shoot!

As I mentioned, there are certain obstacles in the way of you hitting your target so you have to be strategic when you shoot. All you have to do is hold down and release to shoot – that’s it!

The Verdict

What did you think?!

I loved the mini-games in Stormshot, however, the building part bored me. As it’s half the gameplay, I will have to pass on this one.
