Sniper games are pretty popular at the moment, and I really enjoyed playing Sniper 3D Assassin: Shoot To Kill because of the accuracy of the genre. As you go into the game, you’re greeted by an above-average looking woman who guides you through a tutorial. She tells you that you’ll be in the same position for the duration of the game, however, you do have some cover from the enemies. She also explains that the mission is to kill other snipers before they get you first. You need to play Sniper Arena quickly because if you don’t move onto the next sniper after a kill, you’re going to end up dead yourself. The snipers are very good at hiding, but of course, they are – that’s the point.
In terms of the graphics, they’re not amazing but they’re certainly not bad. They’re 3D and brown in terms of the theme. The game moves nicely and it’s easy to navigate – on top of that, it didn’t crash either. So well done, Nordcurrent!
Music & Sounds
The music is very drum heavy and definitely gets you fired up to play. Once you’re in the game, the music changes to be a little more relaxed. In terms of sounds, the only features that make noises are when you shoot, when you move the crosshair and when another sniper is shooting at you.
For the controls, swiping left and right allows you to navigate the scene and find a sniper, the target button lets you aim and zoom control on the crosshair lets you zoom further. The only thing I found a little annoying was the fact I’d accidentally press the aim button instead of the shoot button so it would zoom me out and I’d have to aim again. And of course, having to aim again wastes time and you’re likely to be shot at during that time.

Sniper Arena really didn’t impress me as much as I thought it would. In the app store, it looked like a solid game and not to mention, it’s been rated 4.5 stars out of 5 in the Apple app store. I went in having high hopes but I was most definitely disappointed. I find it very hard to believe that this is an online game, mainly because it doesn’t make sense. Why is it that I’m able to kill everyone within a few shots but they struggle to kill me? Am I the best ever at this game? Doubtful.
Another reason I’m not a fan is that you need to spend real money to get anywhere in the game, there’s no way around it. You’re initially given a pretty average gun, so if you want better shots, it’s time to open up the wallet.
Above all, I can see why this game would appeal to some people – especially those who don’t mind putting in a few dollars. But for the average person, probably not.
