Gameplay

Pocket Champs was nothing like I expected it to be. I thought it was going to be one of those basic racing games where you have power-ups to speed yourself up through obstacles.
I was half right. It is like that. The only difference is that during the match, you don’t actually do anything. It’s how you train your character outside of the matches that matter.
I really don’t like this kind of gameplay as it just takes the fun out of playing a game. Sure, you can upgrade your training but it can take hours and the only way to speed up the process is through in-app purchases. Not fun.
Graphics

Just like the gameplay, the graphics for Pocket Champs are basic. The characters are little ghost people (I think)… or maybe they’re squirts of toothpaste. I have no idea. Either way, they’re boring looking and lack any kind of definition or personality!
Music & Sounds
The music reminds me of something out of Mario Kart, which I actually like. But it didn’t change the fact I was falling asleep “playing” this game.
Controls

Not sure what to say about the controls as there aren’t any. As I said, during the match you don’t do anything but watch your character race. If you’ve trained them properly then they’re going to win. Training just consists of tapping and waiting – fun!

The Verdict

I really didn’t like Pocket Champs. I like to play my games, and this just didn’t do it for me. If you have money to spare and want to waste your time then by all means do it, but I definitely won’t be.
