Gameplay
Pizzaiolo is a pizza-making game made by Geisha Tokyo Inc. The idea is to serve customers and make their dream pizza order with the ingredients you have. They may ask for just a simple pepperoni pizza, or they may even ask for popcorn and shrimp. The possibilities are endless!
The requests are easy to follow but I definitely enjoy making the “Surprise me” orders the most. The “Surprise me” orders consist of you being able to make whatever pizza you like – and it’s fun to get creative with it!
Graphics
The graphics are odd. They’re very low quality and plain and it seems to glitch quite a bit. For example, when you add the toppings, some of them sit on the crust. However, when you put it in the pizza oven the toppings will go through the crust. It just shows that the graphics didn’t have much thought put into them but it doesn’t change the fact it’s a fun game.
Music & Sounds
I kind of predicted this but Pizzaiolo has no music. This ruins the vibe a little, especially since when ads come on they take me by surprise as they actually have sound.
Controls
When presented with the pizza, drag the dough out to make the desired shape, then drag the toppings, and cheese before placing it into the oven.
I have no complaints about the controls, especially for a game as simple as this.
The Power of in-app Purchases
Pizzaiolo has ads that pop up pretty often, however, it’s not possible to purchase the removal of them. When I come across these games with no in-app purchases it confuses me as there’s a way to make money and they just don’t bother.
The only in-app currency available is cash, and you can earn cash through playing the levels. At the end of each “day” in the game, you will be offered new toppings for your pizza that cost cash.
The Verdict
Pizzaiolo definitely has addicting and fun gameplay, I just wasn’t a fan of the number of ads I had to go through during it. As I usually say with games like this, it just isn’t worth it… There are other pizza-making games out there that are fun, and not swarmed with ads.
