Peridot Review!

“Peridot fulfills your fantasy of bonding with a magical, brag-worthy creature that can fly through the air, always wants to be by your side, and might have a secret love for turkey sandwiches. With the power of AR, this pet simulation game places whimsical beings known as Peridots (“Dots” for short) in the real world with you. And with Peridot, playing with friends is better, simple as that. Meet up with your besties IRL to Hatch new Dots that will inherit the Traits of their parents, then snap a pic and share it with your friends!”

Look after your new virtual pet – Peridot!

Have you ever wanted to have your own little magical creature pet? Now you can! Peridot is an adorable simulation game that uses AR to bring your pet to life!

Initially, I thought the gameplay would be similar to Pokemon Go in the respect that you have to go and collect the Peridot, however, it’s not. The closest game I can compare it to is Nintendogs – and I love it! I named my little guy Dave, gave him head rubs, and played fetch with him. Lots of wholesome fun!

The graphics need slight improvement!

The graphics were okay in terms of how the creatures looked, however, I did find that the screen froze or glitched at certain times. It feels like my phone couldn’t handle the game…

Music & Sounds

The music is very calming at the beginning while introducing you to your new pet. Your pet also makes various sounds throughout the gameplay. I enjoyed the audio a lot and felt like it fit in well with the gameplay!

Drag and flick to control!

Use your finger to play with your pet, give him head rubs, feed him, and more! The controls are simple and perfect for children to play too!

The Verdict

What did you think?!

Peridot was very fun to play and a lot different from any other AR game I’ve played before. In my experience, they usually involve walking around and finding things but this was simply about looking after a cute little pet! I’m definitely going to keep this on my phone for a little while.
