Gameplay

Perfect Coffee Shop - Barista Review
Take orders from customers!

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the gameplay but it certainly wasn’t this. Perfect Coffee Shop – Barista is a simulation game where you own your cafe and need to get it prepared for opening. Once you have opened up, you have to take customers’ orders. However, I noticed that the customers didn’t order anything and I had to essentially decide for myself. I went with an Americano, which is my fault because it’s a boring coffee so all I had to do was add coffee powder to some boiling water and deliver it to the customer at their table.

There were also a lot of spelling mistakes throughout the gameplay which was slightly off-putting to me. I can appreciate that the game was made by one individual and not a big developer, however, it made it hard for me to understand instructions!

Graphics

Perfect Coffee Shop - Barista Review
The graphics were poor!

The graphics gave me such a weird feeling. The coffee shop looked practically abandoned and dull looking. I think if I’m going to put time into a game, the visuals have to at least look appealing. The brown neutral colors made me not want to continue!

Music & Sounds

The audio was even worse. I almost went insane listening to the music – it was generic, not related to the genre at all and the sounds when you get a new task are so loud they made me jump.

Controls

Drag to control!

I felt as if the controls were quite good in terms of how easy they were to use, however, they weren’t as responsive as I’d have liked. I don’t understand why I had to physically move the barista around the shop. It just added more time to the task for no reason.

In-app Purchases

Perfect Coffee Shop - Barista Review
This game was completely free!

To my surprise, Perfect Coffee Shop – Barista had no in-app purchases which is crazy when you consider how many ads pop up throughout the gameplay. In fact, an ad popped up before I’d even pressed the ‘Play’ button.

The Verdict

Perfect Coffee Shop - Barista Review
What did you think?!

If this game had been made properly, it would probably be a lot of fun to play. I’ve never come across a coffee shop simulation as accurate before, however, it was created poorly and it was extremely off-putting in every aspect.
