Our Top 10 Favorite Multi-Platform Games
What is it that makes casual app gaming even better than it is? Being able to play games that are multi-platform. If we have the option to play something on mobile AND Xbox, for example, we think it’s a game worth playing. Here are our picks for the top 10 favorite multi-platform games out there:
Company: Blizzard Entertainment Inc.
Genre: Card Battle
“Pick up your cards and throw down the gauntlet! In Hearthstone, you play the hero in a fast-paced card game of strategy.” – Blizzard Entertainment Inc.
Firstly, Hearthstone is one of the best virtual card games out there that happens to be a multi-platform game where the player base is friendly. There’s a mountain of resources online to help with deck issues, energy management, and play styles just in case you get stuck. However, it’s a game that’s easy to get used to.
But keep in mind, you can often be paired up with people who are better than you at the game, so make sure you’ve always got your best deck at hand.
Platforms: Android, iOS, Microsoft Windows, Classic Mac OS
Company: Plarium Global
“Battle your way through a visually-stunning realistic fantasy RPG with hundreds of Champions.” – Plarium Global
Secondly, one thing that sticks out with RAID: Shadow Legends is its beautiful graphics and fun gameplay. The controls are easy to use and don’t get too confusing, but it’s key to make sure you’re being strategic with your attacks!
Platforms: Microsoft Windows, Android, iOS, Macintosh operating systems
“Explore infinite worlds and build everything from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles. Play in creative mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armor to fend off dangerous mobs.” – Mojang
We don’t need to tell you how good of a game Minecraft is, because who hasn’t played it yet? But what we do know is that it’s available on pretty much every platform you can think of so it’s great for those limited with a certain console!
Platforms: Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux, iOS, Android, Xbox, Nintendo, PlayStation
Genre: Battle Royale
“Drop-in, gear up and compete. Survive epic 100-player battles, and fast-paced 4v4 team deathmatch and zombie modes. Survival is key and the last one standing wins. Be the one!” – Tencent
When we first reviewed this game, we didn’t enjoy it much but through time we kept playing, and playing and couldn’t get enough. We have played it on both mobile and PlayStation and prefer it on mobile, but it’s nice to have the option.
Platforms: Microsoft Windows, Android, iOS, Xbox, PlayStation, Stadia
Genre: Battle Arena
“Call on your teammates to join you in the jungle! Crush your enemies in classic 5v5 combat in real-time! Draw first blood, carry your team, and become legendary in the arena!” – Tencent
Arena Valor has similarities to League of Legends when it comes to character designs. You can join 5v5 matches where players rush down three lanes with their minions, to destroy towers and work towards destroying the enemy’s base.
Platforms: iOS: Android, Nintendo Switch
Company: The Pokémon Company
“Pokémon Café Mix is a unique puzzle game where the player is now the owner of a café that serves delicious treats to Pokémon.” –The Pokémon Company
Pokémon Café Mix is the perfect game for when you need something easy to play that doesn’t require a lot of focus. It allows you to completely fall into the world of Pokémon without having to focus too much on what’s going on. Of course, it’s a puzzle game, but it’s still chill. We loved it so much we play it on mobile and the Nintendo Switch!
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS
Company: Miyoho Limited
“Climb any mountain, swim across any river, and glide over the world below, taking in the jaw-dropping scenery each step of the way.” – Miyoho Limited
Genshin Impact was one of our favorite games of 2020 and it reminded us a lot of Breath of the Wild. Miyoho nailed the idea of switching characters mid-fight along with a good set of characters to choose from.
Genshin Impact has also been announced for Nintendo Switch, however, there’s been a delay and there’s no confirmed date as of right now.
Platforms: PlayStation, Nintendo Switch (pending), iOS, Android, Microsoft Windows
Company: Riot Games
Genre: Card Battle
“Set in the world of League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra is the strategy card game where skill, creativity, and cleverness determine your success.” – Riot Games
In our opinion, Legends of Runeterra isn’t quite as fun as Hearthstone. However, it’s a great card game for any level. It’s an upgrade in terms of graphics and the characters are brilliant!
Platforms: Android, iOS, Microsoft Windows
Company: InnerSloth LLC
“Play online or over local WiFi in Among Us with 4-10 players as you attempt to prep your spaceship for departure, but beware as one will be an impostor bent on killing everyone!” – InnerSloth LLC
Among Us was the blueprint of quarantine, getting friends together to bond or if you’re alone, you can play with people around the world! This game is great, however, it can get annoying at times because it’s rare you’re picked as the imposter (which is the most fun part).
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, Android, iOS, Xbox One
Company: Roblox Corporation
“Roblox is a virtual universe that lets you play, create, and be anything. Join millions of players and discover a variety of immersive worlds created by a global community!” – Roblox Corporation
Finally, Roblox is a game-creation website where players can design, upload their own games and play games others have created. It gives you a lot of creative freedom and is available on multiple platforms! In other words, it’s very fun.
Platforms: Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, Android, iOS, macOS, Fire OS, Classic Mac OS
