Gameplay
If you’re looking for a mobile game that’s fun and going to train your brain, venturing into the world of word games might be the answer for you! In Molecano, help Molene eat all the food in the volcano by making words that join up to reach them!

- Your words are limited, so use them wisely
The gameplay was like a modern version of crossword, where all your words need to fit together to reach the end, but it’s a lot harder than it sounds!
I also really liked that the developer added a vegetarian mode – it’s totally not necessary but hilarious!
Graphics
The graphics were simple, cartoony, and bright – making it perfectly fit into the Word genre. With games like this, less is more visually and I found that the little gamepad and 3 buttons were all I needed for the gameplay to be a fun experience!
Music & Sounds
Sadly, Molecano was completely mute… I understand that this is an indie game, meaning it’s made by one person but a game with no sound ruins the experience for me. It doesn’t need to have talking, or even background music, but even just some audio when you complete a level would be great! I was left disappointed.
Controls
With the letters at the bottom, drag your fingers to make a word. Once you’ve made a word, drag it onto the board to create a path for Molene! The controls were simple, but sadly there’s no undo button so if you make even just one mistake, you have to reset the whole level!
In-app Purchases
The only in-app purchase available in Molecano is the removal of ads for a one-time purchase of £5.99. This is quite expensive when you consider other app games that offer the same thing for £1.99, £2.99, or sometimes even £0.99.
The Verdict
Molecano added a nice twist to your typical crossword puzzle. It was fun to play, the levels were challenging Molene the Mole was adorable. I recommend playing this if you’re fed up with the typical word games on the app store!
