Gameplay

Mini Tennis Review
Play head-to-head in online matches!

Tennis games are usually one of my favorites when it comes to sports games on the app store, so it was super cool to see Miniclip.com come out with one. I had high hopes for this as it looked like fun from the screenshots and it definitely delivered.

The gameplay was awesome! There was a lot to it without being overwhelming and the tutorial was long enough for me to get the hang of how to play. After the tutorial, I was put into a match with a real person that only lasted a couple of minutes. The games are short and sweet but they’re a lot of fun to play!

Graphics

Mini Tennis Review
The characters were weird looking!

The graphics were okay but not nearly on par with the gameplay. I liked that the characters were mini (like the title suggests) with big heads and tiny bodies. However, I thought they were funny looking. It would’ve been better to have a complete customization option, especially since you get to play online.

Music & Sounds

In the menu screen, generic music plays which would be irritating, however, there’s no music during the match. All you can hear is the sound of crowd members shouting, players grunting and the sound of the ball hitting the racket. It’s very authentic to what a real tennis match sounds like.

Controls

Mini Tennis Review
Tap and drag to control!

The controls took some time to get used to, however, they were easy to follow after a few practice rounds. On the left-hand side you have the toggle stick to move and on the right you have 3 different moves: Slice, Lob, and Topspin. Use these moves strategically to catch your opponent.
