Hey, Casual Gamers!
When do we ever feel lucky? Is it when we find a penny on the ground heads up? When we finally get to wearing those lucky pair of undergarments? Can anything in life be a real measure of luck?
Lucky Defense questions players ability to get lucky enough to survive 80 waves of minions, bosses, and various missions along the way.
How lucky do you need to be? Give your life to RNG and check out this casual review!
Gameplay

Lucky Defense offers no real stories, just a great deal of gameplay. Players start off with a partner, and a set amount of gold to summon, boost or boost your luck to gain.
The true way of playing this casual app is to become lucky enough to summon top tier minions. The summoning percentages appear as boost to luck increases. Should this not get you the hero you are looking for, use a stash of lucky stones to spin for a minion to appear.
Fortune favors the bold, and this casual app is no exception.
As the waves come, gold can be collected and used for more upgrades. As long as the number of minions do not go over the limit on the top of the screen, the battle will continue. Boss fights only last a short while so be sure to aim all your firepower to take them down quickly.
Learning and understanding the progression of minions and their weaknesses helps the strategy go a long way!
There are various modes, but I’ve found myself just farming the first world as there’s is a wall of progression in the shape of beefy minions that will shut down any team that’s not ready.
Graphics

Lucky Defense has one of those whimsical styles that keep your attention. sprites vary and mythic heroes make summoning them an epic encounter. The menus matches the theme and there’s not a spot in this casual app that was neglected.
The main graphic that really stands out is the player’s avatar. To unlock avatars, players must summon a mythic creature enough times in battle. This tends to give other players some idea of what you like to play, or better, if you have played long enough to be any good.
One thing to really appreciate about this casual app is that at no time does it feel too crowded or have so much action going on you can’t track it. This feels more like an issues than not with casual games of all platforms.
Music

Lucky Defense has the background music that keeps players humming throughout the day. Outside of gameplay there’s a few things to upgrade and obtain via the store. The BGM keeps casual players in the right mood to keep strategizing and empowering their heroes for the next battle.
Various modes of play have different BGM that can feel similar, but gives the mode a distinct tone.
If the music doesn’t sell the need for headphones, the sounds and voices will seal the deal. While there’s no real sound that’s needed for notifications during gameplay, listening to heroes being summoned and special bosses announcing themselves feels like a treat.
Nothing like a great announcement gets casual players in the mood to do some damage!
Controls

Lucky Defense controls during gameplay come off as easy, but can be tricky at times.
As heroes are summoned, they appear randomly on a board space that’s not taken. Depending on the mode, all heroes have an ideal spot to attack from. Finding a good spot to maximize dps is essential in this casual app, and that comes easy with time.
I love a great casual app that doesn’t just make players guess what they should do.
In-app Purchases

Will Lucky Defense break your wallet? Truthfully, no!
While there are a few offers that will jump out at any casual player, there’s not a real need to make a purchase. playing the game will eventually get you where you need to be.
One of the better things I like about making a purchase in this casual app is there’s no real chance of not leveling up something meaningful with a purchase. Most keys will go to upgrades or new artifacts that help with battle, and most mythic purchases come with that mythic you are missing to fill out the roster.
Should you make a purchase, I would suggest starting with either keys or blue gems to really see a difference in gameplay.
The Verdict

If you haven’t notice, Lucky Defense is a keeper in this phone and tablet. I’ve always been a fan of tower defense games, and somehow, this casual app has found a way to make cool again.
With various modes and different challenges added regularly, this one might give fun vibes for a while. Don’t miss out on this newest addition to your phone or tablet!
