Legend of Puzzleverse Review — *Kill the enemies through match-3!*

As most of us know, match-3 games are heavily saturated, it’s hard to find one that stands out from the others. Legend of Puzzleverse combines the puzzle game we all know and love with turn-based fighting. The idea of the game was great, however, the way the developers made the game wasn’t to my taste.

I found Legend of Puzzleverse to have one of the most confusing menu pages I’ve ever seen. There’s a lot to do (like building a kingdom) but also around 50,000 buttons scattered around the place, it’s hard to know exactly what you’re supposed to be doing. It took me a while to figure out how to get back to the battles as that was the feature in the game I was most excited about.

Graphics

The graphics were another downfall of this game. They reminded me of a really old PC game, not a mobile game in 2023. As I said above, the home screen was extremely busy which made the game quite frustrating to play.

The only thing I liked about the graphics were the characters – they were aesthetically pleasing and created well.

Music & Sounds

The music was boring and pretty low quality for a game in 2023. It fits in well with a game all about battling, but nothing mind-blowing at all.

Controls

As you would expect from a match-3 game, all you have to do is swipe the blocks together to match 3 or more of them. Each match you make will attack the enemies so making the best combination possible is important. As you use the blocks, your characters have a special move you can use that also helps with killing the enemies.

The Verdict

The Legend of Puzzleverse was unique, yes, but the slow gameplay and poor audio quality put me off. This game transported me back to old PC games and not in a good way – I have no reason to keep this on my phone.
