Gameplay
Hop Ball 3D is a musical game – it’s a mix of Piano Tiles and Rolling Sky. Control a ball across a series of obstacles in time to the music you pick, if you fall off you either need to use your diamonds to pick up where you left off or start again. I found the gameplay to be pretty easy, in fact, a lot easier than Rolling Sky. This game is extremely fun to play, and I loved how the gameplay was in time with whatever music you pick. The music was quite questionable, but I’ll talk about this further later!
Graphics
The type of graphics are included in the title – they’re 3D! Hop Ball 3D’s graphics are bright, intense and colorful. They move smoothly and they don’t lag at any point, which is surprising because games of a similar genre do lag.
Music & Sounds
This is probably the most important part, as it’s a musical game. However, the music wasn’t the most impressive if I’m honest. There were a few demo songs, but you can also buy (with diamonds) real songs to play along to. The only problem with this was that the songs were all covers, so they sounded a lot different from the originals. Maybe this wouldn’t bother some people, but I feel as if a music game should include real music.
Controls
Drag your finger across the screen to move your ball across the platform. If you don’t drag on time, you will die and will have to start again. I noticed during the gameplay that my fingers were getting tired while dragging the ball, but to my surprise, lifting your finger pauses the game. I thought this was really cool as I was expecting to die by lifting my finger, so it is possible to pause if you need to.

The Verdict
Hop Ball doesn’t have anything unique to it, which is why I won’t be keeping it. I thought the covers of the songs weren’t very good either. However, my favorite part of the game was how easy the controls were and how you could easily pause the game by lifting your finger.
