Hey, Casual Gamers!
You’re in the middle of nature, casually lost again because navigation just likes to throw you a curveball. While questioning life choices, a rumble is heard from the distance.
As you brace of life action nature experiences…out comes a Capybara!
These semi-aquatic and social rodent have been found getting along with many different types of animals and species. With this much natural casual chill, it was only a matter of time before one made it’s way to this casual website.
Capybara Go! offers players a way to befriend a digital Capybara that will navigate through distant lands to find…what else? Friends and loot!
Is this worth your casual time and phone space? Pet the biggest rodent in the world, and let’s dive together into this casual review.
Gameplay
Capybara Go! gives casual players one mission: Cut down the hordes of monsters that try to stop you!
As a text based adventure, players journey through 30-60 day adventures. Along the way there are encounters of good luck, bad luck, monsters, rest stops, and even angels! Encounters come just as randomly as stats come as go, with boss fights sprinkled along the way.
This gives me the feels of an Epic Oregon Trail. I’m sure there’s a few who weren’t even thought of when this OG game came out. Overcoming the Oregon Trail made many of us casual hardcore gamers.
Is it possible that this casual app can give the same feels? Not likely, but it’s great to know that a text adventure can still be fun.
Graphics
Capybara Go! has a visual theme that’s pleasant to the eyes. While this is a text adventure, there’s plenty to keep players attention away from just reading.
Truthfully, the skill is in the design of the various encounters and enemies. Nothing feels overdone, and all assets stay true to their theme.
The cartoonist feel just feeds the belief that Capybaras are truly nature’s best friend. Seriously, what would you have to do to make one of these guys mad enough that they would call daggers from another world along with magic just to blow you up?
Let’s hope we can are always on the friendly side of one just in case.
Music
Capybara Go! has a sounds that gel with the already casual style of the friendly creature.
The BGM flows well with gameplay, and even in different menus there’s nothing that feels annoying or repetitive. The sounds in this casual app is more for show and less for notifications.
Satisfaction is often miss when it comes to the swarm of casual apps on your phone or tablet, but thankfully this casual app has found a way to bring it back. There’s not too often times I will suggest that players listen to music and sounds just to do it, but I’m honored that I can do it here!
Controls
Capybara Go! doesn’t stress out the hands much, although there is some vigorous thumb pressing during gameplay. Because this app is a text based casual app, there’s a valid thought of not having some type of auto story mode.
I mean any kind would make the constant struggle a little more manageable. This is probably the only legitimate complaint I have. Menus are a breeze, equipping gear doesn’t feel like a hassle, and there’s no real bombardment of ads.
Maybe I’m just used to everything else being automatic, I don’t know what it’s like to press a button. To be fair, there’s different types of luck collection that happens. Sometimes it deserves attention, but often times it’s just a spin.
Will this rambling of wanting to live in an automaton matrix going to stop me from playing? Not a chance.
In-app Purchases
Capybara Go! feels rather light on the wallet.
For starters anyhow. There doesn’t seem to be much of a need make any purchases. I’m sure this can change as the gacha for pets, armor and other items feels like it won’t keep up with story progression for long.
This is normally the standard as all casual apps eventually hit a paywall. There’s no real push anywhere in this casual app that wants players to buy constantly.
Truthfully, this casual app could get my funds should i ever reach that point. Most sales have great value and events outside of the story tend to be stronger than the current levels on main progression.
The Verdict
Without a doubt, Capybara Go! has solidified a spot on my phone and tablet. I’m still worried about the wrath of a Capybara, as they seem to be the most chill animals on the planet.
It’s like anyone who’s cool with so many different animal has to have a squad ready to ride for them. With that kind of firepower behind our Capybara, what force could stand a chance?
