We’re back with another game from Seriously! This time, we have Best Fiends Stars and seeing as we loved the originally Best Fiends so much, we thought it was appropriate to review this.
As I opened the game, I noticed the story is very similar to the previous game. There’s a star involved this time, and you need to eliminate all of the slugs to get to it. You do this by playing a match-3 game, that’s actually pretty fun! Since Best Fiends, new characters and power-ups have been introduced which make the game a little more interesting. I’m definitely here for this gameplay.
The graphics have made a slight improvement in Best Fiends Stars, but not big enough to rave about. However, I’m not fussed as I found the graphics on the original game to be enough. The whole aesthetic of the game is very earthy and colorful. I’ve always enjoyed how the games look in general.
Music & Sounds
The music is very recognizable because it’s the exact same as the soundtrack in the first game. But as I mentioned in our other review, I like it. The slugs still burp, the fiends cheer when you win, and so on. It’s one of the only match-3 games where I’m not tempted to turn the music off.
As this is a match-3 game, the controls consist of dragging your finger to match icons together in a row. You can match as many as possible, as long as they’re all connected to each other. The characters help you by dropping power-ups that all have their own perks.

There wasn’t a huge difference between Best Fiends and Best Fiends Stars, so I don’t see the point in having both games on your phone. It’s just a question of which one you’d rather play. For me, I think I’d rather stick to the original game as I like the storyline better, but it isn’t a huge deal.
