Casual Gaming News: 05/10/21 – 05/16/20

“It’s been years since the release of Grand Theft Auto 5 and Rockstar’s fans have been searching for any sign of GTA 6 for them to look forward to. There have been speculations on job advertisements, theories on where the game might be set, and now the most recent ‘leak’ everyone is talking about suggests a possible return to Vice City.
Appearing on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, one user has posted a supposedly leaked image of the map for the next Grand Theft Auto game. FrozenYogurtzzz uploaded a picture of a landmass surrounded by water with several bridges present. Some fans have speculated with this image, that it’s likely that the next game will be a return to Vice City for an all-new story. Others are saying that the image is fake, and to not get your hopes up.”
Leaks happen all the time in the world of gaming and if we’re honest, we don’t 100% believe it. Like the other Reddit users, we won’t get our hopes up but we’ll be happy if it’s true!

“A results presentation for the fiscal year ending March 2021 broke down the company’s recent financial results in detail, but also give an indication of Sega’s plans for the near and long-term future.
This includes a five-year strategy called “creation of Super Game”, which Sega suggests will start off with low profitability because it’s a new IP, but has high growth potential because it will be sold globally.
The presentation suggests that while Sega prepares this ‘Super Game’, it will also release a number of new projects over the course of the next five years, including a new FPS title at a European studio and the ‘utilization of IP assets’ in remakes, reboots and remasters.”
If you’re a Sega fan, you’re going to love this one. We’re very excited and can’t wait, hopefully, it’ll be worth it!

“PC players will soon be able to experience some of that Animal Crossing-esque village life without having to shell out for a Nintendo console. The cozy sim Hokko Life will have you start fresh in a new town called Hokko, where you can make friends with loads of talking animal pals, catch bugs and fish, work on your interior design skills, and live a lovely peaceful life. It looks delightful, and it comes out in early access on June 2nd.
Hokko Life has loads in common with Animal Crossing. Number one: it’s cute. Plus it has talking animals that tell you useful things about the town, as well as seasonal changes, gardening and decorating features and tons more.
In some areas, though, it’s a little more detailed than Nintendo’s charming life sim. For example, Hokko Life’s crafting system lets you edit and hand-design furniture, then place your creations wherever you want, and (crucially) at whatever angle you want. It might not sound like a huge deal, but when you’re trying to decorate your perfect town, it’s nice not to be limited to perfect right-angles all the time. While it doesn’t look like the game will have any form of multiplayer just yet, you will be able to share your crafting designs with other players.”
This game looks amazing, if not, better than Animal Crossing! It seems Hokko Life pays more attention to detail so this is great news for PC gamers out there!

“Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios is teaming up with Tencent’s TiMi Studios, developer of the wildly successful mobile hits Call of Duty: Mobile and Honor of Kings. According to a Google Translated version of the announcement from TiMi, the two companies have formed a “strategic partnership” to create “game content,” but it’s unclear exactly what that might mean or when we might be able to play anything resulting from the cooperation.”
Although this news is pretty vague, we’re excited for whatever’s to come of it!

“Although many are looking forward to the release of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD on the Switch this July, fans have not forgotten about Breath of the Wild 2. Rumors and supposed leaks about the game have continued to swirl since its release, and have only become even more prevalent as E3 2021 approaches, but now, a credible leaker has a rather bittersweet update for fans.”
Zippo clarifies that despite being hit hard by the pandemic, the upcoming title is very close to completion. Nintendo is certainly not a company known for rushing its games, so it seems understandable that despite nearing completion, some extra polishing work and whatnot may be performed just in case. Despite this unfortunate news, Zippo seems confident that Nintendo will finally be ready to pull back the curtains on Breath of the Wild 2 at E3 next month. The leaker sees Nintendo potentially revealing tons of new info on the game to the press and public, even with a possible Spring 2022 release date attached.”
Although it’s not the best news in the world, at least now we know we have an update. Nintendo is great at focusing on the details so we have high hopes for the gameplay!
