Welcome to Paddle Royale, a new online competition genre where it is up to you how you compete throughout the season. Be aware that the global ranking gets updated daily, and you need to find the island almost every round so you don’t fall behind!

When you win a round -and you will, right?- everyone will know who is in charge. Make sure to dress your island up a bit so that the whole world can see your precious little piece of land. The same goes for your boat.

Gameplay

Reach the island before anyone else!

The aim of the game is simple: find the island. While being put against players from all over the world, it’s your job to reach the island first. If you find the island first, you’ll be able to customize it. Pretty cool!

Although there isn’t a whole lot to the gameplay, it is actually difficult to play at times. However, power-ups are rewarded to help you along the way:

Distance flare – check how far away the island is from your boat
Direction flare – will tell you which way to go
Sea buoy – an arrow will tell you how far away the buoy is which helps you know how far you’ve sailed

Graphics

The graphics are relaxing!

The graphics aren’t crazy detailed but that’s okay because they’re simple and very calming. No part of this game is too intense and feels chilled in every aspect.

Music & Sounds

Along with the very calming visuals, the sounds also fit in well with this theme. The music makes you feel like there’s no pressure, despite the gameplay being quite competitive and it weirdly works.

Controls

Control by moving the joystick!

To control your boat, just hold down anywhere and your joystick will appear then just drag it left, right, up or down to move your boat around.

What did you think of 1sland?!

Overall, 1sland is a fun, relaxing game where you can kind of just roam and do your own thing while trying to find the island. Once you find the island, customizing it is a great reward since everyone can see your design.

Although I probably won’t be keeping 1sland on my phone permanently, it’ll definitely be played when I’m in the mood for something less intense than what I’m used to.
