Break the curse of darkness!

Playing as a master of archery who travels to a mystical island, it’s your job to dispel a curse of darkness. As this game is set in an open world, you can do the tasks in whatever order you like – which gives hard The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild vibes.

The gameplay is a little difficult to get a grip on, to begin with, as you can probably tell through the walkthrough video, but it’s fun to explore so getting lost isn’t a huge deal. This means you can do all tasks in your own time while discovering the beautiful sceneries around you. My favorite part was visiting the stunning eagle who basically shows you what to do next.

The visuals are beautiful!

As I mentioned, the visuals are absolutely beautiful. They’re very dark and mystical and fits in seamlessly with the other features. Even if you’re not a big fan of these types of games, you need to try it out just for the graphics – they’re without a doubt of console-quality.

Music & Sounds

Fitting in with the magical theme, the music is very mystical and the sounds are just what you’d expect. The whole music experience works seamlessly together to immerse you into the world in The Pathless.

Control by tapping and dragging!

Even though the controls are very easy to use, I found them to be very sensitive. All I had to do was touch the camera even just a little bit and it would move really fast. To avoid this, I would suggest not making any sudden movements when changing your camera angle.

The Power of in-app Purchases

The Pathless is included in the Apple Arcade subscription!

The Pathless is part of the Apple Arcade subscription ($4.99 a month) so it contains absolutely no ads or in-app purchases. Pretty cool!

The Verdict

What did you think of The Pathless?!

The Pathless is an amazing new open-world game on Apple Arcade, however, it doesn’t quite beat the joy of Genshin Impact. How this game differs from Genshin Impact is mostly based on the characters as they don’t talk at all. This is probably a good thing if you’re not the biggest fan of voice actors in games, however, for me I personally prefer them. Characters, more often than not, tell the story clearly. However, in The Pathless, I found myself not knowing what to do first.

I’ll probably keep this game on my phone for some time so I can dive even further into it, but overall I really enjoyed the experience.
