Hey Casual Gamers! All of us dream of being a classy super agent. In Rage Road, you can now control one as you get rid of the rest of the cars following you!
Sounds pretty epic, but is it worth your casual time? Check your ammo, and lets dive into this casual review.
Graphics & Gameplay
Simple graphics make for a great casual app. You are in a moving truck that’s running away from armed pursuers. There’s some rather funny translated dialog between every few levels or so, but it doesn’t really seem to interfere with gameplay much.
I don’t want to say this casual app is simple, but the ramp is pretty generous. The rewards for completing levels and missions will unlock more weapons and outfits
Music & Sounds
Rage Road is one of those casual apps that you forget the sound is on. There’s decent SFX that will help with the reloading reminder, and some pretty awesome explosions, but nothing that you have to listen to.
Hard Road on the other hand sounds pretty epic. There’s much more going on there so the music boost is a good reason.
Controls
Rage Road’s controls are a bit touch and go. Sometimes it feels like I need to control movement inside the truck that’s driving me, other times, I have no issues targeting what I want to shoot. When you need to reload, or duck, just take your finger off the screen and if you don’t have any more ammo, a reload notice will pop up.
Normal mode offers an auto target feature, which helps, but it won’t auto target red bikes. Red bikes should be considered dangerous as they are the only pursuer that will blow up your ride.
I should also mention that one shot will basically kill you, normal mode or hard mode. This makes Rage Road a challenging casual app.
The Power of In-App Purchases
Rage Road can be enjoyed without making a single purchase. That said, you will be taking alot of ads to the face. There’s pretty much an ad for every reset or completion reward.
The ads themselves aren’t too bad, but if you’re looking to grind out some levels, any purchase will disable adds. It’s definitely a player’s choice.
Verdict
Rage Road is a keeper. This casual app offers quick action in small bits, with some ads to give a natural break. Hard mode seems to be where it’s at, but trust me, make sure you have the right weapons. It’s called hard for a reason!
