Hey Casual Gamers!  Why don’t we have Terminator type robots yet?  I mean it’s almost 2020, and I haven’t seen Skynet on the news or anything!  I mean, there’s that one robot that can shoot a gun at you, but he’s not out on a rampage…right?

At any rate, I’ll have to settle for a casual app that has robots doing the coolest thing ever, snowboarding!  Let’s check out our casual review of Power Hover: Cruise!

Gameplay

So the simplicity of Power Hover: Cruise is what brought me into liking this casual app.  Moving left or right to avoid or take advantage of obstacles is what will bring in the most points.

No two races are the same.  And different ways to Hover across the stages, it’s really easy to get caught up cruising to a new high score.

Graphics

The best way to describe these graphics would be that it’s pleasing to the eye.  Every level offers an unique landscape.  Obstacles are just as vivid and sometimes in your face before you make the correct move.

Usually games that rely on replay value normally don’t have the best graphics.  Power Hoever Cruise does it best to dispel this horrible gamer myth.

Music

I’m not sure if I’m describing the music in the best way, but it’s like rave meets techno in an enjoyable way.  Each level has it’s own music, but it really just sounds like the same music to a different beat.

Truthfully, no one should just be playing a casual app for music.  For what it’s worth, I don’t mind the way it sounds!  It gets you ready for space travel, or at the worst, a futuristic waiting room.

Controls

Easy controls of left or right gets you the highest points!  It does take some time getting used to the stages and movement of the riders.

Some of the traps take some fine timing to navigate through.  This just adds to the difficulty, and the feeling of extra coolness when successfully passed.

The Power of in-app Purchases

So, as enjoyable as Power Hover Cruise is, you have to sit through some ads.  They usually come back to back after a really good run.

It’s only .99 cents to remove the ads and go all out.  This is by far the lowest ad removal I’ve seen.

There’s another purchase that allows the use of all bots and cars for 8.99.  The real question is if this casual game is worth 10 bucks.  As much as I would love to answer this, it ultimately relies on you, the epic casual reader, to know!  This sure could use a Keep or Delete to solve later down the road!

The Verdict

Overall, Power Hover Cruise stands pretty solid as a casual app.  Some of the games are done in minutes and the ads aren’t overwhelming.   A word of advice, start on some of the lower stages.  Some of the stages like Cut Edge and Rings are pretty intense.  Learning the rider is key!
