Gameplay

The cooking game that allows you to be bad!

If you’ve never watched the Netflix show ‘Nailed It!’ before then what are you doing with your life? It’s a baking competition that features bakers that can’t bake… so the foods they come out with are questionable, to say the least. So when I saw that Netflix had released an app game based on the show, I couldn’t help but scream!

Unfortunately, to play this game properly you need other people to play it with you. You host a game, give them a room code and you get the chance to go head-to-head with them in the Nailed It competition! If you do happen to be by yourself you can play in practice mode but it’s not quite the same. Luckily I forced some of my siblings to give it a go with me and we all loved it!

There were 5 rounds in the competition that consisted of baking your sponge, shaping the fondant, and then placing it on your cake. All of which was incredibly hard to do with next to no time to do it (just like the show).

Graphics

The graphics were good!

The hosts looked nothing like Nicole Byer and Jacques Torres, however, the overall graphics for the baking and competition, in general, were perfect and didn’t lag at any point.

Music & Sounds

The music was nothing special, in fact, it was slightly irritating and loud. The music was upbeat and the sounds while making the cake were extremely loud and aggressive so it just overwhelmed me after a while. I’d suggest playing this on mute!

Controls

Drag, tap, or swipe to control!

The controls depended on the round so that could be dragging ingredients into a pan or smothering buttercream all over each layer of the cake. It totally depends – but they were easy to use and remember!

In-app Purchases

Purchase a Netflix subscription to play!

Nailed It! Baking Bash had absolutely no in-app purchases, however, it isn’t necessarily free. You can only access this game if you have a Netflix account and you must log in with that account.

The Verdict

What did you think?!

As a big fan of Nailed It!, I absolutely loved this game and will continue to play it. It’s a great way to get all your friends together and go head to head in a seriously unserious baking competition.
