Hey Casual Gamers! Remember having to do the dreaded parallel park as a casual young adult to get the your driver’s license? I can remember it like it was yesterday…
Now there’s a casual app that can help you relive the memory! Sort of. If you don’t have a license yet, get ready for some practice in this casual reivew of Drive and Park!
Gameplay
Unlike most games,in Drive and Park, all the action…is in the parking! do enough successful parking and you are rewarded with money, and a trip to the next location! If you don’t, the cops come and it’s game over!
It may not sound glorious now, but wait until you pull a perfect parking job!
As you continue casually parking around the world, bonuses will allow purchases or gifting of more cars. In the garage you can choose which cars will fulfill the parking job as you play.
This feels like the essence of casual app gaming for me. Takes a few minutes and there’s points involved!
Graphics
Looking back, I thought these graphics were going to be terrible. I was pleasantly proved wrong! The animation is festive and puts you in the spot of a hurried driver scoring the perfect spot.
While you shouldn’t aim for it, the crashes are done gloriously.
The variety of cars in the garage is pretty massive as well. each car comes with it’s own detail and special power to help improve parking skills or points!
Music
So, there’s not much of a music score (not counting the numerous ad music) when it comes to Drive or Park. There is very crisp sound effects for every crash and skid into a perfect park. It’s a casual game that could use some playlist love for sure! Otherwise, sit back for some sound effects and occasional police siren after a crash!
Controls
Easy controls really make this casual app shine! Just tap to start and when you are ready to park, hold down until you are in the spot! Timing is important and releasing your hold can be the difference of a normal park to a perfect park! Beside that, it’s a click to win casual app!
The Power of in-app Purchases
Should you see yourself ready to make a purchase on this casual app, I’d highly suggest the No ads purchase for 2.99. This game is absolutely littered with ads. It’s almost as if the developers thought that ads were actually part of the game and put them anywhere you try to advance! Seriously, it’s that bad.
Thankfully, some of the ads you can just exit out of, but others give you the dread 30+ second wait.
The Verdict
Overall, this wasn’t that bad of a casual app! Simple mechanics make this an enjoyable spam game that you can play anywhere! Drive and Park could use a little bit of a muscial score to it, but the crash and skid sound effects kinda work for it!
If SayGames ever wants to make this a really good casual app, they would cut down on the ads but just a little bit! It really brings down the value of the game!
